Hearty congratulations are in order to the 19 year old Leicestershire cricketer James Taylor.
James has won this year`s award as Young Cricketer of the Year, given by the country`s cricket writers, who obviously know what they are talking about.
The tiny James Taylor, known around the Grace Road ground as "Titch", is an absolutely outstanding young talent. He has scored centuries in both the four day and one day formats, and is the first teenager to score a double century for the county.
His batting shows a maturity far beyond his years, and it is to be hoped that he will remain a Leicestershire player for many years to come.
