Cinema Manager Talk at Dordon

I recently gave a talk to the Polesworth and Dordon Community Association, at Dordon Village Hall.

The talk was one of my most popular, "The Adventures of the Bearded Cinema Manager".

It recounts the adventures I had when coming into the entertainment business, as a Trainee Cinema Manager with the Rank Organisation, in 1963, ten days before my 21st birthday.

I started at the Odeon Gants Hill, and was apponted Manager of the Odeon Whalebone Lane, in Dagenham, in 1966. At 23 I was at the time the youngest cinema manager in the country.

This talk usually strikes a chord with persons of a certain age.
