Chance to Take Blue Badge Course
There is a chance to take part in a Training Course to earn the prestigious Blue Badge.
This is the qualification which I acquired after a course in 1993 – 94. Along with several others who passed at the same time, I was presented with my Blue Badge by the Duke of Gloucester at the Guildhall in Leicester in May 1994.
There are not many Blue Badge Guides in this country, so it really is a qualification worth having.
The course to be run during 2006 is for the Heart of England, and I understand that there still some places available.
Applicants should have at least one of the following:
Fluency in a foreign language;
Previous experience in tourist guiding or public speaking;
Local knowledge or interest in the Heart of England.
