Wyre Forest Tour (A Coach Trip in Worcestershire)

The "Wyre Forest Tour" is one of the very popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These tours are a most enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station, in the centre of Leicester, at 8am, and is expected back about 9pm.

This particular trip is an "Autumn Colours Tour". These tours are timed to show of the trees at their Autumnal best, when the leaves have turned to their beautiful shades of red, russet and gold.

Colin gives his inimitable commentary along the way, bringing life to the towns and villages along the way. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s trips unique.

The coach will follow a delightful route around wooded areas of Shropshire and Worcestershire, some of which is ancient forest.

There are three stops, each of about an hour.

Kidderminster is famous for its carpets, and has a fine collection of interesting churches.

Bewdley is a very attractive little town on the River Severn, with a Georgian church, a beautiful bridge and excellent local museum.

Bridgnorth, also on the Severn, is a town on two levels. The two are joined by the Cliff Railway, which is the only inland funicular railway in Britain. Among its picturesque old buildings, a ruined tower of the castle leans at a crazier angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Other tours in the "Autumn Colours" series have included Epping Forest Tour, Essex Woodlands Tour, Forest of Dean Tour, New Forest Tour and Thetford Forest Tour.
