Thorpe Acre (A Guided Walk in Loughborough)

"Thorpe Acre" is a Guided Walk on the outskirts of Loughborough, devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These strolls are an ideal way of soaking up some Local History.

The starting point is All Saints Church, Thorpe Acre. This can be found at the corner of Knightthorpe Road and Thorpe Acre Road, opposite Thorpe Acre Green.

The walk leads through the old village centre of Thorpe Acre, and beside the Black Brook to the Stonebow Washlands.

There is a chance to see the ancient but little known bridge known as The Stonebow, and the walk also takes in the edge of the Garendon estate.

Colin leads several other Guided Walks in and from Loughborough, including "Loughborough", "Street Names of Loughborough", "Looking Up in Loughborough", "Haunted Loughborough", "Mediaeval Loughborough", "Victorian Loughborough", "The Outwoods", "Waterside Loughborough", "Waterside Charnwood" and "Waterside Loughborough and Barrow-upon-Soar".
