Suffolk Villages Tour (A Coach Trip in Suffolk)

"Suffolk Villages Tour" is one of the popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These excursions are a most enjoyable way to soak up some Local History.

This tour is around the picturesque county of Suffolk, which together with neighbouring Essex is full of small towns and villages which cry out to be photographed. If you`ve ever wondered where the traditional Olde England is, it`s here.

The coach leaves St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester at 8am, and is due to return at about 9pm.

Colin gives his customary commentary along the way, bringing to life the sights and places encountered on the route. This is one of the things that make his trips quite unique.

There are three stops, each of about an hour.

Clare is a delightful little town, with an outstanding parish church. There is a country park which includes a ruined castle and a former railway station.

Hadleigh (Suffolk) is another with an excellent church, beside which is the impressive Deanery Tower.

Lavenham is one of the outstanding small towns in the country, with a fantastic number of mediaeval timber framed and colour washed houses and a noble church overlooking it all.

There are also two extra short stops, at Cavendish, with one of the most photographed village greens in England, and Kersey, where the main street goes through a ford.
