Colin Crosby Heritage Tours

Lake District Tour (A Coach Trip in Cumbria)

"Lake District Tour" is one of the many popular Coach Trips devised and led by Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These excursions are a most enjoyable way of soaing up some Lcal History.

This tour is around the beautiful Lake District of North West England, with its many mountains, including England`s highest, Sca Fell Pike, and its many lakes, including England`s longest, Widermere.

The coach departs from St. Margarets Bus Station in Leicester City Centre at 8am, and is expected back around 9pm.

Colin gives his inimitable commentary along the way, bringing to life the fascinating and beautiful sights and places seen on the route. This is one of the aspects that make Colin`s trips unique.

There are three stops along the way, each of which is for about an hour.

Keswick, in the shadow of Skiddaw, is a former lead and copper mining centre. Its impressive Moot Hall stands at the top of the rising Main Street, and there is a famous Pencil Museum.

Bowness-on-Windermere is a bustling tourist destination on the shores of the lovely Widermere, and has a very popular Beatrix Potter attraction.

Kendal is a fine old market town. The ruined Kendal Castle was the birthplace of Henry VIII`s sixth wife Catherine Parr, and there is a famous outlet for K Shoes.

And of course the views of mountains and lakes are fabulous.
