Garendon and the Coach Road (A Guided Walk in Garendon)

"Garendon and the Coach Road" is a Guided Walk in the Garendon area, between Shepshed and Loughborough, devised and led by the well known Blue Badge Guide Colin Crosby, of Colin Crosby Heritage Tours.

These walks are an enjoyable way of soaking up some Local History.

The walk starts at the Bull Ring in the old market town of Shepshed.

The route includes part of Garendon Park, on the site of the Cistercian house of Garendon Abbey, which was replaced by a 17th century mansion.

It is not possible to walk all over the estate, as some of it is still in private ownership.

However, this walk will give the opportunity to see two of the park's famous follies, the Triumphal Arch and the Temple of Venus, as well as traversing the old Coach Road that led from Shepshed.

Colin also leads another walk in the area called "Garendon and the Stonebow".
